Books and Bagels!
You are invited to the library Tuesday, Februrary 21st to check out our new books.  They will be on display for everyone to see and ready for checkout on Wednesday.  Enjoy a bagel while you preview our new titles!

WJPMS News will be brought to you by Ms. J. Coleman's 3rd graders this week!  Please encourage your students to watch the news each day.  Several students have missed their names being called on their birthdays.  Others are missing Win Win Wednesday!

We Give Books
Follow this link:  http://www.wegivebooks.org/signup and help us earn up to 500 books for our library!  For every book we read online Pearson will give us a book!  Encourage your students to read books online at home.  An email address is required so parents will have to help.  It takes only a minute to sign up!  Spread the word!  If you have friends and family who would like to help, make sure they know the name of our school.

Safari Montage- Some have been able to access this, while others have not!  Our subscription should begin working for everyone March 15th, 2012.  Not sure what the delay has been, but at least we know it is coming!

Teacher Luncheon~ Our wonderful PTO is providing lunch for us in the library Monday, February 27th, 2012.  The library will be closed this day immediately following open checkout.  I will be attending training at the Martin Center.

Book Fair Luau~ It's a Reading Celebration!
Here are some dates I would like for you to add to your calendars.   

February 29th- Parents are invited to volunteer in the library to help set up for the book fair. Open checkout will last until 8:45 and then the library will be closed to students.  I will be sending out volunteer forms on Tuesday, February 21st.  Please return those to me as quickly as you can because I respond to parents with the email addresses that they give on their volunteer forms.

March 1st- Walk through/Wish List!  Sign your class up to visit the book fair for a 15 minute walk through.  They will recieve the book fair flyer to take home with them.

March 2nd-8th- Students may purchase books throughout the day with their teacher's permission.  Although I will have parent volunteers helping, please send 1-2 students at a time.  We have to give 1:1 attention to many of the children who come in with a small amount of money and a big appetite for books!  Just a reminder!  We have to charge tax so please encourage students to "bring a little extra!"

March 8th- Literacy Night!  I need all the help I can get!  I will need volunteers to help keep order during the fair, run the money table, and present parent sessions.  Please email me what you would like to do!  Students and faculty are invited to opt out of uniform and dress as their favorite book character or wear their favorite HAWAIIAN SHIRT!

Thursday, March 1st- 8-2:30 PM (Preview Day/No Sales)
Friday, March 2nd 8-5 PM
Monday, March 5th 8-2:30 PM
Tuesday, March 6th 8-5 PM
Wednesday, March 7th 8-2:30 PM
Thursday, March 8th 8-2:30/ 4-8 PM

This year parents can also shop online from February 27th-March 18th!  They can go to www.scholastic.com/schoolbookfairs.  Choose our state, then city, then Jones Paideia to shop from home!  Books will be delivered to our school and I will deliver them to your classroom.

Students will not be able to check out books during the book fair.  It will be important for your students to use the open checkout period or their scheduled library time to check out before the fair begins.  Just thought you might want to plan ahead!  We will still have WJPMS news each day!

Laptops Available! 
I still have a couple of donated laptops available.  Let me know if you are interested!

Adult Book Club
Our meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 23rd at 6:00 PM in the library.  If you are planning to attend please email me at connie.sharp@mnps.org
